An Islamic State-sponsored YouTube video was posted on the Bloomfield School District’s website for a few hours Monday, purportedly by a hacker group.
Bloomfield school officials say that the hacker group compromised a number of companies nationwide, including the company that hosts the district’s websites.
The hack apparently happened around 4 a.m. Monday.
“For about two hours, our web sites displayed an ISIS-sponsored YouTube video. Around 6 a.m., the hacked page was brought down and by about 7 a.m. full functionality and control were restored,” a message on the Bloomfield School District’s website said.
The district says that the FBI is looking into the matter. Officials are assuring parents that no confidential student or staff data compromised.
“Everything that happened occurred at the web host's company’s server farms in Atlanta, Georgia and Florida,” officials said.
SchoolDesk, the company that hosts the district's website also released a statement.
