An Irvington native is bringing home Olympic gold. Cullen Jones was part of the 4x100 freestyle relay swimming team Sunday that set a new world record. Jones, who learned to swim in Newark, is the first African-American swimmer to win a gold medal.The victory helps keep teammate Michael Phelps' quest for a record-setting eight gold medals alive. The current record holder is Mark Spitz with seven gold medals. As of Monday morning, the United States has won three gold medals, four silver medals and five bronze medals.
