An Irvington man has been sentenced to life in prison after opening fire inside a variety store nearly three years ago.

Essex County prosecutors say Joseph Ocasio, 29, killed one person and paralyzed another during the shooting at the Nitty and Sons Variety Store.

Ocasio was convicted in April.
