A Somerset woman was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child after an infant was found with a head injury earlier this month, according to police.
Prosecutors say Franklin Township officers responded to a hotel on Cedar Grove Lane around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 5.
Upon arrival, they found a lethargic 5-month-old female with a large contusion to the back of her head.
The mother was found unconscious on the bed nearby. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Doctors determined the baby sustained a large bruise, skull fractures and swelling.
The conditions of the woman and the baby is not known. Police say the incident remains under investigation.
