Energy and excitement filled the patio at Big Shots Restaurant and Lounge in Woodbridge as eyes were glued to the screen for what is said to be the biggest matchup of the T20 Cricket World Cup - the rivalry between Pakistan and India.
Kamel Singh and some of his friends came to the watch party put on by Bollywood Bash.
"It's just so fun to watch,” said Singh. “This is the game you're always looking for…it has been always very competitive. Both teams are of the same standard.”
At Shahi Palace Restaurant & Steak House, Pakistani cricket fans gathered to watch the game being played in Nassau County, New York. Sanaa Hameed traveled from Cliffside park for their viewing party.
“I didn't make it there to watch it live in the stadium, but it's nice that a lot of the restaurants in the area are doing this because it's more fun to watch it with fans and everyone together," said Hameed.
Business owners say it only made sense to show their support and host watch parties so people can get together and cheer on their team.
"We have lots and lots of Indian communities surrounding this area also…people love this place," said Bk Patel, co-owner of Hot Shots.
