Sen. Richard Blumenthal is in Ukraine Tuesday meeting with local residents. He says they are without heat, electricity and water and have very little food. Blumenthal says many schools and hospitals have been bombed out amid a heavy Russian military presence, and children have been kidnapped.

“I will never forget the voices and faces of the kidnapped children who spoke to us today about what it was like to live with Russians telling them how to speak, what to think, and that their parents would no longer be part of their lives.”

Blumenthal is in Europe to attend the 2026 Munich Security Conference. He is set to return to the U.S. on Thursday.
