A hotel clerk nearly lost a finger after being bitten while fighting off an attempted rapist last week in Carlstadt.
The woman was working at the Hampton Inn in Carlstadt on July 4 at the time of the attack. Cincinatti resident Kenneth Gough, 52, allegedly squeezed through a window at the front desk and assaulted the woman.
The victim was able to fight her attacker off and run to a guest's room, where she made a hysterical 911 call.
"I've just been attacked at my desk at the front desk," she told authorities. "I'm the night manager and he just came over and attacked me ? he came over the counter and he tried to rape me. He bit my finger."
Police arrested Gough after the call. He had been arrested twice in the days prior to the alleged incident.
The entire fiasco was recorded by a video surveillance system.
Gough is facing a long list of felony charges. He is being held in the Bergen County Jail on $1 million bail.
The victim was given medical attention and is recovering.
