(AP) - Domestic violence victims will gettreatment and can obtain temporary restraining orders at a NewJersey hospital. The emergency room at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center inPaterson is linked with the Passaic County Courthouse by videoconference. Officials say many victims are ready to take action againsttheir attackers when they arrive at the hospital. However, officials say they often back down an hour or so later. The technology allows the judge to see the victim and even takephotos of injuries. Officials say the immediacy spares the victim the time and fearof having to go to the courthouse.
