Danbury police is releasing new information about the brutal kidnapping of a married couple that happened Sunday.
Authorities say a husband and wife were house-hunting on Damia Drive when a group of men forced them out of their car, beat them with bats, bound them with duct tape and threw them into a white van.
Detective Sgt. Steven Castrovinci, of Danbury police, says all six suspects are in custody after leading police on a car chase and then taking off on foot.
“We still have a lot of follow-ups to do with this,” Sgt. Castrovinci says. “Hopefully we’ll get some answers.”
Authorities say all six men are from Florida and the motive is still unclear.
“With the follow-ups that we have to conduct, we’re hoping to get a reason why they were here, why they targeted these people,” Sgt. Castrovinci says.
The victims and a few police officers were treated for minor injuries, but authorities say they’re expected to make a full recovery.
Danbury police is encouraging anyone with information to call their anonymous tip line at 203-790-TIPS.
