A home health aide is facing charges, accused of assaulting an elderly woman she was caring for.
Wayne Township police say that Helen Pitman, 64, was seen on surveillance video shoving the elderly woman backward, causing her to fall onto a bed and hit her head on a wall.
The victim’s children reported the incident to the police after finding their mother with bruises and in pain.
Police say they were first alerted around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Pitman, of Mount Vernon, New York, was charged with assault on an elderly person, endangering the welfare of an incompetent person and neglect of elderly.
