Holiday festivities begin in Newark with a tree lighting and the opening of Newark Winter Village

The village includes ice skating, go karts on ice, curling, photo ops, food, drinks and a holiday marketplace.

The holiday season has officially begun in Newark with the 9th annual tree lighting on Sunday night. 
Newark Winter Village at Mulberry Commons Park is also open. 
The village includes ice skating, go karts on ice, curling, photo ops, food, drinks and a holiday marketplace.  
There are also cozy, heated igloos that can be reserved.  
Admission is free, but reservations are required.  
Tickets are needed for ice skating and private igloos. 
The village is open Wednesday through Sunday through the month of January.  
The hours are 3 to 8 p.m. during the week and 1 to 8 p.m. on the weekend.
