A powerful winter storm brought widespread snowfall across New Jersey, with the heaviest totals focused in the northern part of the state. Several communities in Sussex, Morris, Bergen, and Passaic counties reported well over a foot of snow, making this one of the more impactful snowstorms of the season.
Sussex County saw the deepest snow, with Branchville and Stockholm measuring around 17 inches. Nearby areas such as Newton and Sandyston Township reported around 16 inches, while parts of Morris County, including Green Pond and Milton, picked up 16 to 16.5 inches.
Bergen and Passaic counties also recorded significant snowfall. Tenafly topped 16 inches, while Ridgefield, Teaneck, Englewood, Mahwah, Ringwood, West Milford, and Wayne generally reported 14 to 15 inches, leading to hazardous travel conditions.
Farther south, snowfall totals gradually decreased but were still substantial. Central New Jersey communities, including Flemington, Hillsborough, Bedminster, and parts of Somerset and Union counties, saw 10 to 12 inches, with 11.5 inches reported at Newark Airport.
Along the Jersey Shore and into southern New Jersey, totals ranged from 7 to 10 inches, with 5 to 6 inches closer to Atlantic and Cape May counties. Blowing snow and reduced visibility caused major travel disruptions statewide as cleanup efforts continue, particularly in hard-hit northern areas.
