Early heavy rain showers in Monmouth County caused lots of problems for residents. 
In Neptune Township, floodwaters caused several cars to get stuck on Route 66. The highway was closed eastbound until the water subsided.
Fast food works inside a KFC restaurant on Route 35 near Third Avenue in Neptune City were stranded after flooding blocked the exits. Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey the intersection looked like a lake and a woman had to be rescued by emergency crews.
Some shop owners tell News 12 New Jersey that the flooding caused some damage inside their stores and some merchandise was ruined.
Officials say some of the flooding was caused by clogged drains in the streets. Workers from the department of transportation were able to unclog some of the drains to alleviate some of the issues.
