Heavy rainfall is expected to hit New Jersey this weekend.

News 12 New Jersey’s Lauren Due visited the Raritan River to monitor the potential for river flooding this weekend, as a total of 2-3 inches of rain is expected statewide on Saturday.

A flood watch was issued for parts of the state, and it’s expected to expire Sunday morning.

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Mike Rizzo says rivers may reach minor flood stage into the weekend across northern and central New Jersey.
