Parts of Ocean County has seen some flooding from Friday morning’s storms. There was a break in the afternoon, but more rain was expected Friday evening.
Those breaks allowed some of the standing water to drain.
Several bands of heavy rain dropped up one to three inches along and east of the Garden State Parkway throughout Ocean County.
In Point Pleasant Beach, a 30-minute downpour was all it took to flood some side streets and parts of Route 35. Although roads were not impassable, with the soil and ground hardened from the recent weeks of heat and very little rainfall, the water just ran off and into the street.
There was even more rain in areas of Atlantic and Cape May counties.
Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardi told News 12 there was no significant flooding from what came through Friday morning, despite a flood warning that expired for the area just after 6 p.m.
