Health officials in New Jersey have announced the first case of the more contagious coronavirus variant, first identified in South Africa, has been confirmed in the state.
The announcement was made Wednesday.
Johnson & Johnson's vaccine has proven to be effective against the spreading variant.
The first confirmed cases of the Brazil and New York variants were discovered last week in New Jersey.
