A Hasbrouck Heights man was arrested for staging a robbery to cover up his wife's murder, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors say Hasbrouck Heights police responded to a 911 call Saturday from Michael Manis, 71, who reported around 5 p.m. that he arrived home and found his wife dead.
Prosecutors say an investigation determined that on Friday, Manis killed his wife and later staged a robbery to cover up the homicide.
Manis is facing multiple charges, including first degree murder, disturbing and desecrating human remains, and providing a false report to law enforcement.
