Hundreds of Yankees fans flocked to the new stadium for its Thursday debut. Along with the new stadium, opening businesses celebrated their own launches, including a new Hard Rock Café.
The doors of the new bar and restaurant on 161st Street and River Avenue swung open for the first time, and former Yankee Bernie Williams, alongside Kiss axe man Ace Frehley, smashed pinstriped guitars outside the eatery.
Managers say more than 1,000 people applied for the 100 positions the restaurant brings to the Bronx, and about 40 percent of the chosen staff are from the borough.
