A group of young men are being credited with saving the life of a woman who was in distress while swimming.
The group was lounging by a friend's pool in Rahway Tuesday. A woman they knew was also there and she was swimming in the pool.
"She always comes when we're here," says Daejon Weeks. "She got in the pool and out of nowhere, she started shaking."
"You could tell it was more than her not being able to swim," says Stephan Watkis.
The men saw her go under the water, and that's when they jumped in and pulled her out.
"First instinct. I didn't even second guess," says Weeks. "I just wanted to go over there and make sure she was good."
Another member of the group called an ambulance and the woman was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. She is listed in stable condition. Her name could not be released due to medical privacy concerns.
News 12 New Jersey is told the woman is thankful for the rescue.
