Today is the last day of the Great Kindness Week Challenge, and Milton Avenue School in Chatam is another school taking part.
The students last year completed more than 2,600 acts of kindness.
As part of their checklist this year, students volunteered to write a compliment card to a peer, teacher, or any adult in the building.
The compliment cards were then delivered to each classroom.
“It really builds for success into the future in terms of character,” says Principal Nick Andreazza. “It'll help them in school, help them in the workforce, help them in life in general, and so we're really hoping at this level we can really make a strong impact with things like that.”
“If you're not nice, they may not treat you nice, and if they don't treat you nice, you're not gonna feel happy,” says third-grader Madeline Klatt.

Meantime, Haskell Elementary School in Wanaque kicked off the week with a creative video.
Among the activities, the week included a chance for a teacher to win a $100 mini grant for their classroom.
Students also built a kindness wall, kindness chains, and had kindness stations during lunch.
