Gov. Mikie Sherrill is pressuring the Trump administration to renew federal funding for the Gateway Tunnel Project.

The massive infrastructure development will connect New Jersey to New York City with tunnels.

Several million dollars have already been put aside, but the president moved to kill the project during the government shutdown forcing construction to a halt.

The funding stopped last week, putting 1,000 workers out of a job.

The governor says the president has until this afternoon to renew the funding.
