Gov. Murphy visits center for developmentally disabled to view COVID vaccine process

Gov. Phil Murphy visited a COVID-19 vaccination center in Somerset County on Tuesday morning.
The governor got a firsthand look at the process at the Matheny Medical & Educational Center in Peapack. This facility is for individuals with special needs and medically complex developmental disabilities.
The chief medical officer says that those who are developmentally disabled are at three-times greater risk of dying from COVID-19.
“It’s very important not only to give vaccines to them, but to kind of envelope them in a kind of vaccine safety net. So, having all our staff vaccinated is very important,” says Vincent Barba M.D.
Barba says that the vaccination process is “going better than expected.”
