More than 2 million New Jersey residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Gov. Phil Murphy.
The goal remains to have 4.7 million people fully vaccinated by June 30. Murphy said on Monday that he is increasingly confident that the state will meet that goal.
Nearly all New Jersey residents will be eligible to receive the vaccine by next week.
“All New Jerseyans 16 and over will begin making their appointments. From there it will be 72 days until June 30,” Murphy said. “We are all confident that we will meet our target.”
The governor received his first vaccine dose in Atlantic City on Friday. He said that his only side effect was some arm soreness. He will receive his second dose of the vaccine in a few weeks.
