Gov. Phil Murphy has expanded some of the rules regarding dining to allow restaurants to offer more outdoor dining space.
Under the new rules, restaurants with areas with fixed roofs that have two open sides comprising over 50% of the total wall space can be considered “outdoors” due to the airflow.
Indoor dining was supposed to resume earlier this month with some restrictions, but Murphy pulled back on that plan at the last minute due to an uptick in COVID-19 infections.
Restaurants around the state can only offer outdoor seating, along with takeout and delivery.
