Gov. Hochul proposes $3 billion capital plan for infrastructure projects

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the state capital plan Saturday, which includes a nearly $3 billion investment into infrastructures across the state.
The Bruckner-Sheridan interchange Hunt's Point, one of the Bronx's busiest intersections, will be getting a facelift as part of the proposed plan to promote equity, connectivity and transportation opportunities.
The plan also includes revitalizing the South Bronx by covering parts of the Cross Bronx Expressway to increase open space.
Hochul says the plans will transform the Bronx by correcting planning mistakes of the past that have caused air and noise pollution, along with physically divided communities.
Bronx residents can expect reduced commercial traffic in local residential areas, a new green space over the Cross Bronx and more lanes for enhanced bicycle and pedestrian safety.
Hochul says she hopes that the projects, over the next five years, will tie communities and small businesses together.
