Gov. Kathy Hochul and the U.S. Climate Alliance announced two major renewable energy transmission projects for New York City.
The projects are expected to bring in 18 million megawatts of renewable energy, something the governor says will have a positive impact on the city.
"That's enough power to power every home in New York City, as well as our wind and solar power," Hochul says.
This is part of the governor's efforts to transition to 100% renewable energy in all state operations.
The two projects would power over 700,000 homes throughout the five boroughs.
