‘Good will prevail’ – Ukrainians gather for prayer service in Whippany

Ukrainians in Whippany gathered in solidarity Saturday morning to pray and ask the community for help as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine.

Ukrainians in Whippany gathered in solidarity Saturday morning to pray and ask the community for help as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine.
The prayer service took place at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Poems were read, along with a video showing urban areas and landscapes of Ukraine, followed by a prayer the eastern European country.
"People have to understand that Ukrainians are peaceful…Ukrainians are proud people…we have faith that good will prevail,” said Mark Howawsky, of the Organization for Defense of Western Ukraine.
They will continue having prayer services at the church as the war in Ukraine continues.
