A GoFundMe page has been started for the custodian who was fatally struck Wednesday morning by a vehicle while spraying weeds outside the Crossroads North Middle School in South Brunswick.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office says Dean Battaglia, 53, was spraying weeds along a curb on Georges Road when he was struck.

Police and EMS attempted life-saving efforts, but he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene.

The fundraising campaign was created Thursday evening.
