Gloucester County woman accused of using stun gun on adult with autism
A 62-year-old woman was charged with aggravated assault and other offenses after authorities say she stabbed an adult in her care with a stun gun, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said.
According to court documents the adult victim, who has autism, told individuals at school on Feb. 3 that they had been harmed at home by their caretaker, Yolanda Johnson, of Clayton.
The victim reportedly told police they had been attacked with a "stab gun" when attempting to leave home on Jan. 30.
A blue stun gun was found at the suspect's home during the execution of a search warrant, according to prosecutors.
Johnson is charged with aggravated assault, endangering a person with a developmental disability and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison for each charge.
