AAA reports that the nationwide average for a gallon of regular gas is under $3 this week for the first time since May 2021.

Both the US and OPEC have increased oil production in recent months, adding more supply.

Additionally, most pumps are now filled with winter blend gasoline, which costs less to produce.

The average price in New Jersey is right at $3, slightly greater than it was last month at $2.97 per gallon.
