A funeral is set to take place Friday morning for an Elizabeth man who was fatally shot by police who responded to a domestic dispute at his home.
Body cam footage of the incident on July 29 shows police shooting Stiven Algeria-Hurtado, who was holding a knife.
The death sparked outrage from his family, who say he was not going to use the knife. His friends and family also say they had the situation under control.
"They killed my brother. They took my brother away from me and from my family,” said his brother Deiby Salcedo.
"They could've used a taser to tase him,” said his brother Juan Carlos Salcedo.
The attorney general is investigating the incident.
