A Marine from New Jersey who was killed in Afghanistan has been laid to rest in his hometown.
Services for Lance Cpl. Osbrany Montes De Oca were held today at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in North Arlington. Montes De Oca was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The 20-year-old was killed Feb. 10 in the Helmand province of Afghanistan 10 days after having been promoted.
Montes De Oca was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force that was based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Montes De Oca enlisted in the Marines in 2010 along with his twin brother.
Gov. Chris Christie ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in his memory.
