A funeral for a soldier from Oradell killed in a Black Hawk helicopter crash will take place on Sunday, April 16.
A funeral procession for 23-year-old Sgt. David Solinas, Jr. will begin at Lake Street in Oradell and end at Basralian Funeral Home.
Those who would like to join the procession in support are asked to line up along Kinderkamack Road from Lake Street to Soldier Hill Road starting at 2:45 p.m.
Solinas was among nine soldiers killed on March 29 when two helicopters crashed in Kentucky. He was a member of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division, known as the Screaming Eagles.
Flight data from the helicopters has been recovered and has been sent to Fort Rucker for analysis.
Army officials said that the pilots were using night-vision goggles during an exercise. Brig. Gen. John Lubas, the 101st Airborne deputy commander, has said the accident occurred while the helicopters were flying and not during a medical evacuation drill.
