Freehold Music Center closing after more than 70 years
Attention music lovers, Freehold Music Center announced that it is closing its doors for good on Feb. 29.
Everything in the store must be gone by the end of the month, the store shared in a Facebook post. Their website shows a clearance sale for guitars, drums, sound speakers and more.
According to the website, the store was first started in 1951 by J. Michael Diehl. A reason for the closure has not been stated.
The Facebook post on Freehold Music Center's page has gained over hundreds of comments with people sharing their musical memories of the local store, such as items purchased and even music lessons taken at the store.
“Took my first vocal lessons here & got my first guitar here too. Sad to see another music store go,” one person commented.
Another person wrote, “My dad got his first guitar here many, many moons ago and the rest is history.”
One comment said, “So sad to hear the news…. What a wonderful place full of giant smiles and musical memories.”
