Fort Lee mailbox theft has police asking residents to be vigilant

Anyone with a discrepancy should contact police immediately.

Police in Fort Lee say several mailboxes were found open last weekend and an unknown amount of mail was stolen.

The mailboxes tampered with include:

  • 1213 Anderson Ave.

  • 1580 Lemoine Ave.

  • 309 Main St.

  • 231 Main St.

  • 1475 Bergen Blvd.

  • Abbott Boulevard/Columbia Ave.

Police are asking anyone who may have dropped off mail into any of those boxes after 3 p.m. last Saturday, Sept. 20 to monitor their bank statements, credit card accounts, and financial records.

Anyone with a discrepancy should contact the police immediately.

No word on a suspect or suspects.
