One of New Jersey’s own is heading on another trip to the Super Bowl.
On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs made the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years after dominating the Baltimore Ravens and snagging the AFC championship.
Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who played college football for Rutgers Scarlet Knights, scored a touchdown that gave the Chiefs the lead in the second quarter.
The 24-year-old Vineland native, also known as “Pop,” was picked up by the Chiefs in the 2022 NFL Draft and is already a Super Bowl champion with the team. Pacheco made his Super Bowl debut in 2023 when the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs are set to meet the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The 49ers scored 27 straight points in an all-time comeback against the Detroit Lions in Sunday's NFC championship.
