A former nurse was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail and three years of probation for the neglect that led to the death of 19-year-old Matthew Rossi.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office says Emilio Rivera pleaded guilty to neglect charges.

Rossi died in 2023 shortly after Rivera drove him back to his East Hanover home on a bus.

Prosecutors say Rivera failed to properly care for Rossi, resulting in his death.
