A former police officer in Jersey City has been convicted of sexual assault and criminal restraint.
The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office says 39-year-old Francisco Rodriguez, of Tannersville, Pennsylvania, was charged with two counts of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of criminal restraint in the third degree.
The four-day jury trial wrapped Tuesday in Sussex County with the guilty verdict.
Rodriguez faces up to 25 years in prison. His sentencing is set for June.
Back in 2017, Rodriguez was indicted along with four other officers on assault charges after video showed officers beating a suspect following a pursuit.
