Most of New Jersey saw wet weather Friday. At times it was severe and included heavy winds, lightning and hail.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the rain could last into the overnight hours.
The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings that affected most of the northern counties. The agency also issued a tornado watch for the northeastern portion of New Jersey. Those advisories have since expired.
Curren says temperatures reached the mid-80s before cooling off as a cold front moved through the area.
The Fourth of July holiday weekend is expected to see much better weather, with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 80s.
More rain is expected on Tuesday.
