A Flatbush elementary school teacher says she’s traumatized after a man exposed himself to her on her way home from work. She caught part of the incident on camera and shared it exclusively with News 12.

Warning: The video contains disturbing content.

The 57-year-old Flatbush woman, who asked to remain anonymous for her safety, says she couldn’t stay quiet after the encounter Wednesday.

The Brooklyn second-grade teacher says she no longer feels safe walking in the neighborhood she’s called home for nearly 40 years.

She was walking home from work around noon when she realized the man was following her.

When she got to Marlborough Road, the Flatbush woman thought she had lost him. But there he was, standing in front of this building, exposing himself -- just around the corner from the elementary school where she works.

The woman quickly got into her car, locked the doors and started recording as a neighbor rushed to help.

“Can you call 911 for me? I’m recording him because he followed me around the corner,” she said in the video.

She says she called 911 twice but no officers ever showed up.

“I’m beyond the moon that this can happen two blocks from a school—that I can make a phone call and the NYPD is not here,” she said.

The next day, she called again. Police took a report, and she posted about the incident on social media.

“The amount of people who responded—not just with compassion but with similar stories—now has me angry,” she said. “Something’s wrong. It has to be addressed in the neighborhood.”

The teacher says she saw the man again on Thursday.

“I certainly feel targeted. It’s like those National Geographic shows where the predator locks in on its prey,” she said.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man or believes they may have been a victim to contact the 70th Precinct.
