Firefighters stop Ho-Ho-Kus house fire before major damage spreads
The Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department was dispatched around 11:20 p.m. Sunday for a reported working fire at a residence.
Firefighters quickly contained a late-night house fire in Ho-Ho-Kus, preventing more extensive damage to a home on Stone Ridge Lane.
The Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department was dispatched around 11:20 p.m. Sunday for a reported working fire at a residence.
First-arriving crews found flames on the exterior of the home extending into the attic through a vent. Firefighters stretched two handlines, attacking the fire from the exterior while also moving into the attic to stop the flames from spreading.
Damage was largely limited to the exterior of the home, with only a minor extension into the attic.
No injuries were reported.
Additional assistance was provided by the Saddle River, Midland Park and Township of Washington fire departments, while the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps stood by for EMS coverage. Officials say the coordinated response quickly brought the fire under control.
