Crews have extinguished a fire that broke out on Mountain Creek’s "High Anxiety" attraction.
A spokesperson for the water park says that the fire started Tuesday afternoon.
Video posted on social media shows plumes of smoke rising from the woods surrounding the park.
Fire crews from Vernon Township and other nearby towns came by to put out the fire.
“While we are certainly disappointed that we won’t have High Anxiety available for the foreseeable future, we know that our resilient team is ready to welcome guests back this weekend for our season opening as planned this Saturday, June 19,” park spokesman Brian Lowe said in a statement.
The park was closed at the time and no injuries were reported.
Mountain Creek is the site of the old Action Park, which had a reputation for poorly designed rides and consequently poor safety record.
