A fire displaced dozens of people from multiple homes in Roselle on Monday.
The fire was reported around 5 p.m. on the 300 block of East Ninth Street.
Authorities say that 38 people from eight families were displaced. Images from Drone 12 showed that the fire caused the roofs to collapse on three of the multifamily homes impacted by the fire.
“I was inside. I heard screaming outside and then when I went out, I saw the fire and then I went back inside, grabbed my stuff and quickly got out,” said resident Claudensky Leneus.
Roselle police say that a firefighter suffered an arm injury during the operation. All residents were able to safely escape.
The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
