The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused in a deadly stabbing last year.
Authorities say they are looking for 36-year-old Ricky Vargas, who is accused in the killing of Hawthorne resident Richard Franceschi outside Jojos Bar & Grill in Garfield on Feb. 4, 2024. Four other men were also charged in the incident.
The FBI says that Vargas is a member of the Latin Kings gang and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
“Vargas has ties to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; Winter Park, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Arizona; and Puerto Rico. He does not have a valid driver's license and may use ride-sharing apps and mass transit to travel. He may reside in homeless shelters,” the FBI wrote in a statement.
The FBI is urging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or contact the FBI Newark Field Office at 973-792-3000.
