A 4-alarm fire that claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman in Morristown does not appear to be suspicious, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
Investigators have determined that Monday night's fire at 15 Pine St. began on the lower level of the building. Kelly Smith, one of the tenants, was killed during the fire.
The building housed five apartments and some empty commercial space on the bottom floor. Eleven people were living in the building at the time of the fire.
Most of the tenants were able to get out on their own, but one had to be rescued by firefighters from the roof, along with his dog.
The American Red Cross was on scene to help provide food and clothing to the residents that were displaced.
