Route 17 southbound in Hasbrouck Heights shut down temporarily Thursday night while police investigated a fatal crash.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says that four vehicles were involved, and one person is dead.

Officials tell News 12 the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. near the Franklin Avenue intersection.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, and several others were taken to the hospital.

The prosecutor’s office says detours and road closures will be in place while the investigation continues.
