A Fanwood man is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl from Irvington.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office says that Keith Ashley-Drake, 52, approached the girl in Irvington on March 17 as she was walking home from the movies. He allegedly coaxed the girl into his vehicle and took her to his Fanwood home, where officials say he sexually assaulted her.

Ashley-Drake was arrested on March 31. He was charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Ashley-Drake is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing on Wednesday.
