A Fanwood business that has been a community staple for 30 years is making some changes to safely stay in business during the pandemic.
Enchantments is a Fanwood gift shop that first opened in 1989.
“We are a specialty store. I would say, a gift boutique, that we specialize in handmade jewelry and craft items that are made in the United States,” says owner Helen Ling.
Ling says that she has a passion to sell unique items. But she says that the pandemic has been challenging.
“We try to make it more convenient to people so we have established an online site too, so people can browse online and pick up at the store at curbside,” she says.
Enchantments is also taking the proper health precautions inside the shop.
“We usually sanitize the first thing in the morning and the last thing of the day,” Ling says. “We have hand sanitize by the counter…Wear your mask.”
Ling says that while most of the items are made in the United States, she also tries to feature gifts made specifically in New Jersey.
