Some fans of Whitney Houston are disappointed that her funeral, which is set to be held this Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, will be closed to the public.
Fans tell News 12 New Jersey that they feel a service should have been held in a large venue where they could file past the casket and say goodbye.
Many fans continued to add to the memorial today outside the church, which is where Houston first sang as a child.
Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio says there won't be a funeral procession in the traditional sense. DeMaio also says there won't be big screen televisions and speakers outside the church for crowds that can't get in, since crowds will not be allowed to gather.
Video of Saturday's funeral service will be provided and News 12 New Jersey will air it live.
Scheduled road closures for the funeral are as follows:
Central Avenue will be closed between Norfolk street and Hoyt Street Norfolk Street will be closed between Central Avenue and Sussex Avenue Nesbitt Street will be closed between Orange street and Hoyt Street. James Street will be closed between MLK Boulevard and Nesbitt Street
