A boy searching for shells at a Sea Isle City beach recently made a massive discovery when he found a fossilized megalodon tooth.
The Bower family, from the Pittsburgh area, was vacationing at the Jersey Shore when they made the find.
The Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center confirmed the discovery and wrote on Facebook that the prehistoric shark may have reached lengths of up to 60 feet.
The megalodon went extinct more than 3.5 million years ago.
